I have mediated numerous types of cases, including, but not limited to: real estate, construction, contracts, neighborhood disputes, school districts, business, divorce/child custody, landlord/tenant, consumer disputes, small claims court and victim-offender cases.
I have worked as a volunteer mediator for Jefferson County Mediation Service since 1998 and also for the Face-to-Face Victim-Offender Program in the 18th Judicial. Dist. from1998 to 2001.

From 2003 until 2009 I worked of counsel in a practice with emphasis in eminent domain litigation and real estate transaction work. Previously I have worked in construction defect, personal injury and insurance defense firms.
I began my attorney career working in a general civil practice including real estate, probate, family law, and personal injury.
Real Estate Broker
I have been a licensed Colorado real estate broker since 1978 and have worked primarily with residential properties, first in Boulder County, and more recently in the southern Denver metropolitan area.
I was Broker/Owner of Foster & Associates, Metro Brokers from1994 to 2000 and have been an independent real estate broker since then.
Hearing Officer
Since 1996 I have served as a hearing officer for the Arapahoe County Board of Equalization, representing the County Commissioners in property tax assessment appeals hearings. Since 2007 I have also served as a hearing officer for the Douglas County Board of Equalization. I work with both commercial and residential property cases.
Legal Support Work
From 1987 through 1993, I performed legal support work in California and Colorado. I worked on different types of cases for both plaintiffs and defense firms, including construction defect, personal injury, insurance and other types of civil lawsuits. During that time I worked as a litigation coordinator for the Law Offices of Thomas E. Miller in San Diego, CA where I handled case management, trial preparation and trial assistance for large multi-party plaintiff’s construction defect cases. I prepared for and attended mediation sessions. Mr. Miller is one of the best known plaintiffs’ construction defect attorneys in California and the author of “California Construction Defect and Land Subsidence Litigation.”
Secondary School Teacher
Prior to law school I taught Home Economics (including early childhood classes), Psychology and English in Kansas high schools. My student teaching was done through the Cooperative Urban Teacher Education program in Wichita, Kansas.
